I call the places where we minister, God’s waiting rooms. Just like the waiting rooms at the airport, they are filled with a variety of people. Different in color, different backgrounds and religions, but unlike the travelers at the airport, most are confined to the building they are in and have limited travel or adventures ahead. Some have assurance of their final destination. Others do not

Many have lost loved ones, their health, their homes, their jobs and are now asking themselves, is this all there is? We Care Ministries, the name of our ministry, takes the hope of the Gospel message of our Lord Jesus Christ to those who are perishing and to those who may be spiritually malnourished in community healthcare facilities, primarily nursing home, adult day care, and assisted living centers. We have been doing this since 1991.

The Biblical Model for We Care Ministries comes from the cross. Remember the story from John 19, Jesus was hanging on the cross and nearby was his mother, her sister, and Mary Magdalene. Seeing the disciple he loved standing beside his mother Jesus said to his mother “Dear woman, here is your son,” and to John, “Here’s your mother.” From then on the disciple cared for her as Jesus wanted…even though Jesus had half brothers and half sisters, this was very important to Jesus. Later knowing all was now complete “He said it is finished.” Bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

Jesus made sure His mother was cared for by someone close to Him. Likewise we, who are His church, must help care for the elderly. In fact, God commands us to show reverent fear for Him, by standing in the presence of the elderly and showing them respect. –Lev. 19:32

We Care is respectfully standing in their presence; providing services to many who are in need because they can no longer attend worship services in their community, or their church is unable to provide full ministry to the, or they are not connected with an established church.
